My 15-g092sa came with the atrocious win 8.1. I need to get some work done so I am trying to install my Windows 7 64 Pro. That DVD has been used for several times everytime I had replaced hardware. It boots up fine on other hardware.
However, it will not boot on this machine. I found the BIOS settings and put the hard drive (windows boot manager) in the bottom. Everything else is on top of it and should boot before it. The DVD won't boot, a USB bootable ISO won't work...
When trying to install from a running win8.1, the setup won't let me manage my partitions, a crucial reason for me to want to handle the installation myself.
How do I boot things other than the bloatware that came with this PC?

I am writing this from my phone as I am stuck in the win7 installation. I deleted the partition carrying the amazing win 8.1 and when I thought I'll just chop it up and install win7, it says it has other plans. what do I need to do to let me install win7?

Drivers from HP website
I suddenly cannot get drivers from HPs website - I'm using a Paviliion DV9700 with windows Vista - and all software updates. I can find my machine via the auto detect, but when I click the software/driver updates, i'm sent back to the main support web page. Is there a problem with the site or something???

Very long resume on battery
I'm having issues with Windows taking a very long time to resume. This does not happen all the time, and although it does also happen when connected to AC power, it is most common when the machine is on battery power. There are times when it will take 5+ minutes to make it to the password screen. There have actually been a few times (although thankfully it's been awhile since this has happened) that the machine never did make it to a login screen, instead hanging on the resume animation until I finally decided it wasn't going to happen and powered the machine off. Looking here on the forums and elsewhere, the advice seems to be to update drivers and BIOS and see if that fixes it. Unfortunately, this has turned into a separate rabbit hole as I cannot seem to get a straight answer as to the recommended BIOS version for my machine. I have updated all drivers from the HP website.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've lost hours of my life trying to sleuth this out myself and I'm kind of at the end of my rope.

Want to install Windows 7 on my laptop which already have preloaded Windows 8

I have a HP laptop( HP Pavilion g4-2208tx Notebook PC ) which came preloaded with Windows 8 64bit and now its on Windows 8.1 . I have purchased some videos (.WMV) which are licsensed ones and the seller says that on windows 8 the licsensed videos will not run and for running those i need to install windows 7 .
I have attached the system config image for your reference.
So my query is :
1> Is it possible to have multi boot operating systems . I mean , can I install Window 7 also so that while booting I can have the option whether to use Win 8 or Win 7 ?
2> If not then is it possible to down grade my operating system to Windows 7 ??
Please recommend me how to do it as those videos are related to my study and I need them badly .

I deleted a driver and now I can't connect to wireless internet.
I can't connect to wireless anymore. I think I deleted my wireless network adapter on accident. I brought up my device manager and there is a yellow exclamation point next to network controller. Does anyone know what driver I need to install?
