Can't get to Factory Reset
Sorry I can't find the name such as Pavillion or whatever. I used my magnifying glass even and it isn't on the back or anywhere else that I can find. I did get the model number though.
I want to set the laptop to factory settings. Here is the problem....I can't get to anything from my desktop. When I turn it on, it boots to the desktop but only shows the wallpaper and about 3 icons on the taskbar, such as start, search and one other. I can't get to any of them because as soon as the cursor touches the taskbar it turns to an hourglass. The desktop is bare except for the wallpaper. The only thing I can open is the task manager but I can't shut anything down from there as I tried to stop Windows Explorer. The whole desktop flickers like it's trying to redraw or something, Any help in easy terms would be awesome and appreciated.

Hi, My HP Envy TouchSmart 17 Notebook PC is not able to boot up. I have tried to follow the https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Boot-and-Lockup/System-will-not-boot-to-windows-10/td-p/6490348 instruction to do the System recovery but all my restore points with the following message:

HP Evny Windowns Explorer Malfunction
Hello
Recently when trying to open my Windows Explorer tab from the bottom menu bar, the tab opens and it says "Working On It" with the scrolling circle tab but it never opens and then says "not responding". So I cant access my files or anything. Any ideas how to fix this???

Need recovery disk for HP Pavilion g6-1b60us Notebook PC
Have a HP Pavilion g6-1b60us Notebook PC I bought in 2011. It was registered with HP but now shows I have no account. The issue is I had to change the settings of my networtk to resolve an issue with some hardware I was using. Now I cannot get it back. Therefore I have no internet connection. I ahd disk with oeprating system at one time but cannot find it now. Was hoping to download from HP but, it says nothing is available. Any ideas on how I can get a recovery disk for my laptop?

Envy laptop won't work in extreme temperature changes
So, I have had my HP Envy since June of 2015 so about 3.5 years now and every year around November/December when temperature likes to change a lot, my computer refuses to work. I live in South Carolina and the past few days it has been in the mid to upper 60s and today (12/5/2018) at 3:13 it is 50°F. I am able to log in and see my front page with all my icons. I can click on things and move my mouse, but nothing happens. I have spent the past 4 hours trying to get my laptop to work with no success. If anyone has any tips on how to fix my problem, please share.

Locked out of laptop

I’ve carried out bios update on my laptop, upon restart no longer able to log in using pin.
I cant remember what the password is I’ve never used it, always used pin.
I’ve tried using the reset password option via usb did not work.
Can anyone offer any suggestions I’m really stuck.

CPU stays 100% busy (Task Manager). Whatever all other tasks don't use, IntelPTTEKRecertification uses (up to 99%).

Notebook shows the blue screen of death and reboots at random
Hi. Since some weeks ago, a Blue Screen of Death error message and reboot occurs frequently on my HP Pavilion laptop with Windows 10. It happened on some predictable moments as loading stuff that used much RAM, but I noticed it also appears rather randomly too. The error message says "system thread exception not handled", but don't mention any system file that may be associated with the error.

Is there a way to recover Windows 10 product key?
My laptop does not boot correctly anymore (after a Windows 10 update installation) and reports BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO. The disk is accessible and I seem to be able to copy most (all?) files to another disk, if I boot from a USB. However, none of the recovery methods that I found seem to work. F11 recovery reports more or less the same BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO. Therefore, I am trying to reinstall the operating system (Windows 10 Pro). However, the installer asks for the product key. It does seem to allow installation to proceed without the key but I am afraid that the installer may first destroy all files on the disk and then ask for the key again. Therefore, I would like to check first whether there is a way to recover the key from the existing OS files before I proceed with any destructive installation.

hp notebook 15-ac021tx won't turn on
My HP notebook 15-ac021tx won't turn on. I plug the power cord into the computer and the little light right beside where it plugs in lights up white which means that it is plugged in and recieving power but when I press the power button nothing happens. I have tried removing the battery and power cord and then holding the power button for a minute and then putting the battery/power cord back in but this did not work.

Me too! I just want to stop the message popping up every 10 seconds. I have my on way of manually backing up my files to an external drive. Don't want to delete any partition, just want to stop it hassling me.

Battery plugged in, charging (Does not charge beyond 78%)
Brand new laptop, not charging correctly. Reaches about 80% and stops but still says its charging. Have tried all recommended methods for troubleshooting the issue on the HP support forums including uninstalling the driver.
