I had a windows update a couple of days ago... now the computer wont shut down. It just reboots after 5 seconds.
It was windows update 1803.
Can anyone help? My fan is running more than usual, it's getting hot and battery is draining really quickly...

have you guys worked with Microsoft Support to get this issue fixed? This should not be happening for years and not have been figured out yet by you guys. HP is a Billion dollar company for its laptops to be having these issues.

I have a HP Pavilion x360 - 11-ad023tu that I just bought about 8 months ago. Since now everything was fine and I had no issues. But as off yesterday, my computer is restarting like crazy, about every 30 mintues. I unchecked automatic restart upon system error, but still it is restarting. I also tried updating the BIOS but it said failed and couldn't complete it. This also started happening after I updated it to the latest windows it ask me to do which I did 2 days ago. Also sometime it's doing which happened twice now is all of a sudden that computer will completely freeze and no matter how long I wait it won't come back and I have to force restart it.
Someone please help me as I have work and I need this laptop stable.
I have a pavilion g7 that my idiot sister in law tried to fix her self and deleted the recovery partition and everything that i know to try and fix thsi has not worked i am currently having to use a compaq nx 7400 from 2011 to do my work and i hate it any solutions? I can get to the Boot menu but i have no boot discs and the hp recovery manager is not on the laptop any longer .
Hello, I am going insane trying to get rid of that pop-up. I have ran every scan available. Cleaned, Optimized but my D drive has two things in it and 0 bytes available so how can it be full? I have Windows 10, login with my microsoft account linked and not really knowlegdable on how computers work. Can you help?

When I try to turn my laptop on, the power button blinks a few times then stays lit, then the fan kicks in and the caps lock button begins to blink. The display stays completely black the whole time.

Recently i bought a notebook form ebay (used). It has active warranty, so i was glad, but recently i discovered that it has a bios password installed. I tried to ask the seller about it, but it was unsuccessful, because the language barrier the we have between us. I need to change the boot order, but i can't do that without the BIOS password, so i'm here asking for help. If there is anything that i can do, please let me know.

I bought a hp laptop a month ago..........it has windows 10 pre installed.
Recently, Windows 10 installed and restarted my new HP Ryzen 3 after an update to the os. Since then, my laptop desktop background turned black. Start button, taskbar is not responding. Opening my computer showed a messgae "Explorer.exe error..........an attempt was made to reference a token that do not exist". I was able to open only chorme, firefox and qbittorrent (which were present on my desktop). NO windows applications are working. They showed the error"class not registered". So I restarted the pc from lock screen(holding shift).
I entered the advanced boot and chose the HP Recovery manager. I selected to reset my laptop to the factory settings. I selected "do not backup" option which erases all data on hard drive and resinstalls windows using the original image.
Then this misery happend............!
The process formatted my entire hard drive and when it is going to reinstall windows, a blue screen appeared saying "pc ran into a problem and we need to restart".
After this restart, I see this screen.........saying
"Boot device not found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk
Hard disk(3F0)
............"
I ran the system diagnostic tests........my laptop passed both memory and hard drive tests.
I also set the BiOS settings to default. But no luck.
Now my questions are...........
1) If I clean install windows 10 using a bootble device, do I need to enter the product key? (Because, I don't have one).
2) What about system drivers?
3) If I install operating system on my own, will it effect the warranty of the product?
4) Will HP repair my system and bring it back to normal for free of cost?(My warranty is active)
Hello I need to reinstall the system. but you need a product key. In Microsoft, when checking the key, it indicates that the system is installed by the manufacturer of the product, contact HP. how do i find out the key? The operating system was installed, the system don't can be actived. The recovery partition was be deleted and the product key i was recovery don't work, the activation tell what que product key is falsified. I call Microsoft but they tell me what they can d anything for help me, and i need to contact the support in Chile but when i try they tell me, the time of garanty is expired. Hello - I bought an HP 14-DF0023CL from Costco for the holidays. It comes with Windows 10-S Home. I put a bigger faster drive in the laptop, a 960 Evo 500G – I bought a ‘Windows 10 Pro’ key from Newegg and downloaded 1809 (windows) on USB using the media creation tool as described with my key I purchased. When I try and load windows off the USB, it just keeps loading Windows –S Home, it doesn’t give me an option to pick 'Pro' from the list.

When ever I try and boot into windows 10 from my dual boot. I errors saying winload.efi has an error or is missing: error code 0x00000e

I have the HP Model # 15-bw017cl laptop I bought in January. I've had to reset it a few times to factory a few times. When I go to recover it mentions Windows 7, but only have 10 available when it comes to actually recovering the system. I tried installing Windows 7 professional 64-bit and then found there we zero drivers available to load when I got it installed. My question is, I actually prefer Windows 8.1 and would like to load it instead, but don't want to go to the trouble of buying that version and not have it work on this laptop. I absolutely do not want Windows 10 on it and try finding a new one without it. My question is... can I install Windows 8.1 and have the drivers available to use on it? Thanks in advance.
