I have a HP stream 11 notebook. When I turn it on the hp logo appears but then screen goes black and then hp logo reappears but is flashing. I do not know if anything was downloaded. My teenage son and friends were the last to use it. When I got it back it was wiped. How do I restore? I have tried the diagnostic test and everything.

Windows not genuine error after win7 ultimate reinstall and bios update!

bought pc secondhand about 18 months ago, originally installed with vista but had been upgraded by previous owner to win7 ultimate, activated and validated etc. worked fine for about 6 months, then had major permissions issues and as all hp system software was not present, no recovery manager etc, so decided to do reinstall. Copied all the drivers and updates from hp to a usb, then Downloaded win7 sp1 iso to usb and did fresh install. All went fine installed , activated, validated as genuine.

was working fine then one day started to get windows not genuine error.

window pops up saying  you may be the victim of counterfiet software, with 3 options (not word exact)

-get genuine windows, buy new product key

-change product key

-contact microsoft to resolve

first tried change product key as noticed product ID was now in system properties with the OEM code, instead of actual product key. Entered product key and get activation error 0xc004f063.

The software licencing service recorded that the computer bios is missing a required licence.

The more info link for possible resolution=

'You can also contact microsoft by phone to help resolve this problem' link takes me to Windows help and Support with CONTACT HP.

Did all that, they couldnt help me with the case at the time, since then i have remembered a few things that could possibly have made an impact,

-updated the bios from F:01 to F:19 with update from hp site after reinstall

-didnt reinstall the licenced microsoft office install that had been on the computer

-downloaded all missing updated from windows update, (there was ALOT)

-deleted 'old windows' file as it was taking up too much space

-when reinstalling and activating i changed the name of the computer and the name of the licencee of product to mine  (it had been previous owners)

As all these things were done around the same time, i dont know which if any is the cause, windows still worked fine for about 2 weeks after before getting the error.

I found a work around that was deleting a certain update , which put windows at 30 days for activation when trying to activate i got 'windows vista OEM marker present in firmware.'

however it did download microsoft security essentials, which you have to have genuine windows to get, and still have it working and updating regularly right now despite this error returning,

every link i try is no longer existent, there is alot of posts on the net about this, with the two 'fixes' i have seen, not being applicable for my computer as those permissions were already set as they were supposed to be.

Im at a loss, please can someone help

Unable to install switchable graphics drivers

Hello,

I have an ProBook 4530s (i5 2430m, 4GB RAM, Intel HD3000 + ATI Radeon HD6490m 1024MB). Recently I had to replace my HDD so i don't have the recovery partition anymore. I have a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit and I am trying to install the switchable graphics drivers.

I downloaded both Intel and ATI drivers from the HP Support website, exactly for my computer and for Win7 64bit. But none of them works. The Intel setup says that the driver is not compatible with my device and won't install at all. The ATI installs fine, but after reboot I get a black screen, and I need to remove the driver in Safe Mode, to be able to boot again.

I tried to install newer versions of the drivers as well, the Intel driver for Windows 8 installs fine on my Windows 7, but the ATI still does not work.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Laptop continues to have blue screen crashes despite repairs

I'm sorry to be posting here again, but my laptop is still crashing even after repairs. Today alone, the laptop crashed three times, including one time where there wasn't any activity. I've did the System test on the new hard drive and it passed. Yet, the laptop continues to crash as if nothing was done to fix it. I've never seen or had a laptop that crashes so frequently.

Ways for Product key recovery for Windows 10

Good day, I am just new here and not so familiar with the softares nor hardwares. I would like to ask to know where or how to recover or locate my product key. I was in trouble on finding nor recovering my product key as the system suggested that I can locate my product key on my box or in a cd, but the problem is my uncle had thrown the box and there's no even a  cd with it also for my brand does no have cd compartment to read a cd. I would just like to ask if theres an easy way to locate it on the charger, back of the laptop, or either just the manuals to see what is my product key. But if theres no way with those, is there any way I can still recover it without running any software programs? For thats also my problem, without Windows 10 S-mode  which does not let me run the software programs I want and requiring the product key.

Dear HP support,

For some odd reason my laptop HP Notebook - 14-ac004ne (ENERGY STAR) would unexpectedly shutdown without warning whenever the battery is discharging to ~50%. This is the second time it happened to me this week.

My bios and drivers are up to date. I’ve ran the HP PC hardware Diagnostics windows and everything is normal. I’ve ran an anti-virus scan (Bit defender & Malwarebytes premium, no results came up. My battery settings are in the default values for balanced in the power options.

  • Low battery action: do nothing.

My hard disk failed.  I replaced the 1 TB hard disk with another 1 TB hard disk.  Everything else in the laptop is original.  I got a set of recovery DVDs.  I ran the recovery DVDs several times, but the recovery fails.  I'm going to install the OS and drivers manually.  How do I find the digital product key?

I opened a website [edit]to watch a live match but I got a pop up message stating "your computer has been blocked". Then a continuous voice note saying I should call a toll-free number to get it unblocked by the support engineers. I tried calling but the number isn't going through. What should I do please. It's urgent because I can't do anything on the computer. Thanks.

Hi, I have a HP Beats 15-p099na notebook which is locked on the Administrator Password or Power On Password on boot up.  I have tried using BIOS password generators but no codes seems to be working.  I have noticed previous threads where there have been some kind souls who have posted codes that have worked when all else has failed and hope someone can help me!  System disabled code is DA6698E1.

Many Thanks!

Unmountable boot volume

I am currently trying to fix a friends laptop, it crashed while in use.

Upon restart was met with stop code :- Unmountable boot volume. It is a HP Notebook, Model - 15 ba079na.

I have followed a lot of hp suggestions on fixes, none of which has worked.

When it starts up, screen has the HP logo with the dotted wheel spinning underneath. Then it pops up with the stop code as mentioned above. It then restarts and gets stuck on "Preparing automatic repair.

To date:- I have tried, booting from usb and windows iso disk. System repair (F11), BIOS update, will not boot into safe mode (F8). Have done the long extensive checks on hard drive which all came back as passed.

Run out of things to try that i have found online.

Coming to the conclusion it's going to be a hard drive replacement.

Any Suggestions?
