I recently bought a ProBook 430-G5 (2SY24ET#ABH)
This has a M.2 128GB SSD installed (Samsung MZNLN128HAHQ), this is an M.2-ATA type SSD
I would like to upgrade this SSD to an NVMe type SSD (Samsung 970EVO 500GB)
I tried to clone the 128GB SSD to the 500GB SSD in the following way:
1) placed new 500GB SSD in M.2 slot
2) placed 128GB SSD in M.2 to SATA adapter and placed the adapter in the SATA slot
3) system starts up from 128GB SSD in SATA slot
4) tried Samsung Magician to clone the 128GB to 500GB, but Magician failed to recognise the 128GB SSD in the SATA adapter
5) Installed Minitool Partition Wizard, and both SSD's where recognised, cloned 128GB SSD completely to the 500GB SSD
6) shutdown laptop and removed the 128GB SSD from the SATA slot, and left cloned 500GB SSD in M.2 slot
7) powered up laptop, system will not load, the following message is displayed:
Boot Device Not Found
Please install an operating system on your hard disk
Hard Disk - (3F0)
F2 system Diagnostics
8) Did run system diagnostics, but no problems found on 500GB SSD
Then i tried to perform a "clean" windows-10 installation, made a installation USB-drive, and after powering-up the laptop with WIN10-USB drive installed, the system began to install windows, the installation stops with the message that some drivers are missing (did not tell exactly which drivers)
I have the following questions:
1) Is it possible to migrate the operating system (windows 10 PRO 64bit) from the "old" 128GB SSD to the "new" 500GB SSD??
2) if migrating the operating system to the new SSD is not possible, how can i make the requested drivers available during a clean installation, so the installation program knows where to find them when needed, and can go on without interruption or manual interference.
