Hi there, I have a four-year-old HP Laptop (2TB, Intel core) that is running very slowly. Per instructions I've seen on other people's posts, I tried doing a full factory reset to see if it would fix it. I should note that prior to this I did a full system scan with Norton and nothing came up as viruses, etc. I did the full factory reset (Yes, even deleted all my files and documents on it) and even after it came up, it was still slow. I re-added Norton and did a scan again and nada.
I've also done the following:
- Reinstalled Windows 10
- Made sure all Windows updates were up to date
- Checked drivers and made sure they were updated
- Managed/Disabled my startup programs
-Managed Notifications & actions through Settings
-Deleted Temp files and %Temp% files
- run >msconfig > unchecked unnecessary background programs
- Turned off Transparency effects on Windows
- Power options are on balanced
- Configured Storage Sense to automatically delete temp files every 14 days
- Did a Disk Cleanup
- Privacy Settings > Checked off I didn't want on Privacy, Camera, Background
- Checked off everything in Gaming settings as I don't use it
- Configured Battery settings as well
At this point, I'm really at loss to what I can do to fix the speed and any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
