Legacy boot option not saving

Hello all,

So I want to install windows 7 on my HP ENVY dv6-7258nr, and I have tried two ways.

One was from a cd which had windows 7 on it, but I get to the final steps and it gives me an error saying this computer does not have the required hardware to continue or something like that. (NOTE: I did disable securom for this and enabled legacy to boot from the disc)

So with that said, I tried to do it via usb. Everything works and it the installation is about to finish and the computer restarts (as it is supposed to several times throughout the installation process) and my laptop comes to the screen where it says "NO OS installed, etc". I go into bios and see that that securom function has been reenabled and legacy disabled.

Now, I just test this to make sure that it is not saving. So I turn the comp off, back on, go into bios, turn off securom and enable legacy, save and exit, reboot, go back to bios and the settings I just saved have been reverted

Could this be why the USB installation is not working? I'm thinking that because its resetting the secruom to enabled, its defaulting to UEFI mode possibly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
