EliteBook 8760w, Win 7 Professional SP1 64-Bit, Fully Patched.
When I put the computer to Hibernate, the battery driver fails. When the hibernate process has started, the battery LED continually blinks amber at a fast pace. I cannot power up the laptop until the power cord is plugged in. Once it powers up, the plugged in but not charging message appears when I hover over the battery. To fix this problem, I uninstall the 2 instances of the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery drivers, remove the battery, wait 60 seconds, insert the battery, and then scan for hardware changes. Then everything works until the next hibernate. I have installed HP Support Assistant and run it to upgrade the system; this did not fix the problem.
