My product is a HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, and the OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1.
For a couple of months now, my HP Support Assistant refuses to update. Whenever I open up HP Support Assistant and click on 'Check for HP updates now', I get a checkmark next to 'Connecting to HP Servers', but then I get an X next to 'downloading messages and updates definitions', 'gathering system information', 'analysing your system', and 'preparing the action list'. As I said earlier, this has been going on for a couple of months (at least half a year), so I'm not really sure when exactly HP Support Assistant stopped working.
