I have a Compaq Presario CQ70 laptop approx.5 1/2 years old which will not start up. The message displayed is 'Windows Error Recovery. To fix the problem insert your Windows Installation Disc which came with the computer, restart and click "repair your computer'. Problem is I do not have the Windows disc as the laptop was preloaded with Windows Vista and didn't include a copy of the disc (from what I've been told!)
I have run a diagnostic and the memory and hard drive are ok and I have managed to back up all my files on there from the startup menu. I know I can restore it back to the factory settings but does anyone know if there is a way of getting hold of a Windows Vista disc or running something direct from my computer or online, as I would rather do this than restoring the whole thing back to factory settings?
