CENTOS install hangs on HP ENVY

I'm attempting to install CENTOS6.5 on a new HP ENVY 15t j100 with 12 GB ram installed, 1tb HDD, & I7 4800MQ processor.
Bios is InsydeH20 ver F.51
Legacy support is enabled.
Installing with iso image on external DVD.
Install hangs with:

Trying to allocate 1005 pages for VMLINUZ
[Linux=EFI, setup=0x1017, size=0x3ec870]
[Initrd, addr=0x7d93b00, size=0x1fd64ff]

Internet search reveals some similar issues eg:

However have not found a resolution or workaround.

Any suggestions?
