I ordered a HP Envy dv6t with Windows 8 installed about three weeks ago. So my problem is that everytime I startup or restart my pc, a black screen shows "Boot Device Not Found. Hard Disk (3F0)" requiring me to enter BIOS and reset all settings before I can boot into Windows.
A little background: two days ago my pc froze, and the screen displayed "Windows is not responding." So I turned off the pc and tried to turn it back on. However, all the screen displayed was "Boot Device Not Found. Hard Disk (3F0)." At first I thought it might be a hard drive failure or my OS is corrupted, but after running all diagnostic tests for hard disk and memory, I found no problem. HP support told me to try reseating my hard drive. This method worked, and I was able to boot my pc. I thought this was the end of it, but it turns out that now I am unable to shut down my pc (pressing the shut down button no longer shuts down, but logs me out, and I have to press shift + shutdown in order to turn off the pc). Now everytime I start my pc or restart, it always goes into "Boot Device Not Found. Hard Disk (3F0)." In order to boot into Windows, I have to go into BIOS and reset the settings; I also found that I can disconnect and reconnect my hard drive and Windows will boot, no problem.
I just want to know how I can solve this issue, because reseting BIOS everytime is quite irritating. I'm also concerned with why this is happening, whether it's because of corrupted BIOS or some other issue, and if there's any issues with my hard drive or motherboard?
