Hello there,
I just bought the aforementioned Notebook and am going through the process of downgrading from the built-in Windows 8 to a brand-new Windows 7 Professional 64bit.
The computer has barely been turned on a couple of times, no hardware of software changes whatsoever.
Shame on me, I never would have imagined that the downgrading process would be so stressful when I bought the NB.
I searched a bit through the forums and it looks like I'm not the only one, so here I am begging for the gurus to please, please provide me with a short tutorial or something.
NOTE: this notebook does not come with a CD/DVD unit so I bought an external USB one - that's how I was planning to install the new OS.
Apart from this, here's another detail: I was planning to have both Ubuntu and Win7 on this machine running in separate disk partitions.
What should I do first? Downgrade to Win7 and then install Ubuntu or viceversa?
I apologize if these questions have been asked a million times already, but I didn't find an answer for my specific Notebook model and don't know if the ENVY 15-j033tx features the same exact hardware as the 15-j022el, so better be safe than sorry... in case you answered the same question somewhere else please provide me with the link and that's it.
