I have Many HP Laptops, printers, and other HP products and just went online to HP support in order to verify the drivers on my 8740W Laptop. To my shock, I cannot get access to the drivers and software pages because my warranty expired in NOv 2013, and I would have to purchase a service contract to access the drivers site for my laptop.
A message comes up that this new rule took effect Feb 1 2014, which is today.
I cannot even contact HP support unless I purchase a service contract.
Is HP out of their mind??!! I have been a loyal HP customer and have recently purchased more HP Laptops. I stuck with HP because of their service and the fact that I can always find the required drivers for my PC's on their site.
What "Bonehead" at HP decided to show bad faith to their customer base like this?? They seem to want to make their products obselete and to force us to pay to keep our existing machines up to date or to purchase new ones. Regardless, this was very poorly thought out.
If this issue is not resolved, my newly acquired HP touchsmart M7 will be my last HP product purchased.
