Hello all,
I was planning to sell my HP Pavillion DV6120us Notebook PC, so I wanted to wipe the drive and re-install Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. I did all of that with success, but when I went to install the Wireless Network Drivers, nothing would work. I tried this utility that I had heard of called Driver Pack Solutions, but I got errors trying to connect to a network. So, I performed a System Restore. Then, I tried downloading the drivers from HP's Support site. I found out that there are two different drivers, one that is Intel Pro/WIreless and one that is Broadcom. I wasn't sure, but the descriptions made it sound like they needed each other to work. I wasn't sure what order to install them, so I tried both, doing a System Restore back to before the driver's installations. I also tried each one on its own. No matter what, I still got errors, if it even showed the Wireless icon in the system tray at all. I also saw that there were two versions of HP's Wireless Assistant, 2.0 and 3.0 I think. Which drivers do I need? Do I need/should I have the HP Wireless Assistant? Which version? In what order should I install everything? Am I doing something else wrong?
Thank You in advance,
Matt
