Recovery Disc for Pavillion g6 laptop
I was planning on giving my laptop away to a friend, so I attempted to clean the hard drive. However, my battery died moments after I had started the process. When I plugged in and re-started my laptop it went to a black screen that says "missing operating system...." in the top left hand corner. (That now happens every time it is turned on)
It seems that my os was accidentally deleted. Is there any way for me to re-install Windows 7 and get this laptop back up and running? I bought this laptop a few years back and do not have the original recovery discs..
I have checked HP's support website, but have not really found anything that helps. I am open to any suggestions or positive feedback.

New hard drive and OS
I would like to install a new hard drive into my Folio 9470m. I have a few questions.
-I'm assuming that when I put in the new hard drive, I have to re-install the OS by running the Recovery Media, correct?
-If that is correct, I'm wondering if I will have issues since the Folio 9470m does not have an internal CD/DVD drive. I have an external USB CD/DVD drive. Once the new hard drive is in, how do I run the Recovery Discs on the external USB drive. Without Windows being installed yet, I'm wondering if this will be an issue.

Support Assistant Messages
Hi
I'm not sure that I am in the right area but...
HP Support Assistant has a message with two Exclamation Marks re clearing jams. When I click on it and read the information, I cannot get rid of the message. At the end of the information, I am supposed to click on options as to whether I have found this information to be valuable. When I click the appropriate option, I am supposed then to be taken to a new window. This does not happen. I cannot get rid of the message and when I click the bin Icon, it disappears but reappears when I click on the Support Assistant again. Can someone help?

Downgrading From Windows 10 to Window 7
Hello,
I have a ProBook 450 G2 that I got last year. It came with Windows 7 Professional, and about 2 weeks after buying it I used Microsoft free upgrade to Windows 10 Pro. After a year, I realized that Windows 10 isn't right for me. I know after 30 days you cannot downgrade via Microsoft's service that comes with Windows 10, but according to the page found here, I can downgrade from Windows 10 Pro to Windows 7 Professional via downgrade rights. I have the Windows 7 Professional install media all ready, but the only issue is I do not have a product key on the PC like I did for my other laptops, and Windows 10 no longer has product keys in control panel/settings.
Can someone help me through this? I have never downgraded Windows before, I only downgraded my MacBook Pro from OS X 10.10 to 10.8 a few years ago.
Here are the specs of the 450 G2 I own (there were different models apparently)
-Intel i5 5200U CPU at 2.20 GHz
-750GB Hard Drive
-Intel HD Graphics 5500 and AMD Radeon R5 M255
-A bunch of other stuff that every 450 G2 model has.

11-r011ca Microsoft forced Win 10 Anniversary Update
On September 20 Microsoft pushed through the Windows 10 Anniversary Update to my computer - ever since then it does not work at all. When I turn it on I get the HP logo and an occasional horizontal cursor blink in the upper left corner.
Pressing F11 at powering on brings me to a troubleshooting screen per the instructions on HP website - I selected repair / recovery. Repair progressed to 64% then seemed to stall for several minutes before the screen just went black and then nothing. Repeated the process and "attempted repair failed". Repeated the process and attempted recovery made it to 52% before crapping out.
My computer was "born" on 11/11/2015 and apparently died a mere 10 months 9 days later. I cannot seem to find any answers and I'm at my wits end. My computer is still under warranty and I really need to get this back up and running!
I don't know what to do next - do I need support from HP or Microsoft ? Can I take my computer to a nearby repair person or will that void my warranty?
Hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

HP Support questionable at best
So I posted a Problem with a ERROR on recovery problem known as PININST_BBV. I was contacted by HP and was told I'd be contacted within 24 to 48 hrs, with help. Its been 74 hours with no reply.
I've owned 5 laptops and 2 desktops in last 10 yrs and will never own one again! I think there should be a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT against HP for this problem.
There are more then 200 issues about the PININST_BBV Error and no answers, And thats only the people that posted a problem.

WINDOWS 10 ANNIVERSARY UPDATE FAILURE
I have a pavilion dv6-3139tx which was originally a Windows 7 64. It was updated to Windows 10 during the free upgrade period. Everything was working well. Then it automatically started upgrading to Windows 10 Anniversary edition and the computer stopped working. I managed to go into safe mode etc. to repair the computer without success. After following advice from HP forums and Windows forums, I made things worse as I couldn't enter safe mode or recovery mode or any other options to fix the problem. This is where I'm at now. I have made a Windows 10 ISO on both USB stick and also on disc and I also have copies of the original HP Windows 7 recovery discs purchased from HP. I managed to work out how to boot from both the USB and discs. These are the outcomes from trying to boot from Windows 10 ISO AND HP Recovery discs. I do not have any original bought Windows OS discs (Windows 7 or 10) only The Windows 10 ISO downloaded from a different computer and the HP Windows 7 Recovery discs.
When I tried the Windows 10 ISO, I got a blue Recovery screen stating to repair the computer with recovery discs with the error File: \Boot \BCD Error code 0xc0000098 and couldn't progress any further. I then decided to recover back to Windows 7 using the HP Recovery discs. I thought it was going to work after it started downloading files and brought up the Recovery window. I pressed to continue and after progressing an error window popped up stating: Fail to create E: \SDV. FLG. I then clicked on OK and the next error window stated: Fail to copy from D: \PRELOAD \BASE 11. WIM to C: \RM \IMAGE \BASE 11.WIM. I can't progress any further. Is there a possible fix for this or do I need to change my hard drive? There's nothing important to save on the computer so I'm not trying to save anything - only to get the laptop working again after Windows 10 basically destroyed it. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated or do I need to pay for the premium service? I would be more than happy to pay if I knew there was a solution.

Laptop keeps restarting
I clicked on update and shutdown on my laptop. When I turn my laptop on the hp logo comes up and a little buffer sign, sometimes it says restarting then it cuts to black and repeats itself.

dual boot
i tried to dual boot windows 7 on windows 10 but im getting this error " easybcd has detected that your machine currently booting in efi mode.due to limitations set by mirosoft many of the easybcd's feature cannot be used in EFI mode and have been disabled ."
what can i do , i need other os badly , im running on windows 10 home version 64 bit 8 gb ram.

HP Notebook (Energy Star) one of the clowns passworded my BIOS
They had a few brews and one of them passworded my BIOS (Administrator) I was a little unhappy about it so won't find out who did it (If he even remembers it) Could use some help on the back door, after the 3 wrong tries it shows

Extreme Heating on HP Spectre X360
Hi,
My Laptop is getting extreme heat even with the normal use like browsing and watching videos. It is very difficult to place on the lap and sometimes to type as the area around the keyboard getting extreme heat.

Word will not open on HP Stream notebook 11
The notebook was trying to run an update, a problem occured and everything froze. It would not turn off so had to let it run out of power so it could be turned back on. Afterwards a message came up to advise not enough space to perform the update with an icon to click to clear available space which I did. It did this then I think tne update failed. After that word will not open, I click on the icon to open but nothing happens. The product is under warrenty still, I just have no clue what to do. Can anyone help? Please!
