win 7 software updates hang
After doing a factory setting restore on a Pavilion DV6 (four years old) I am not able to download the Win 7 updates. It just hangs and there is nothing downloaded.

Windows performance test crash
Good evening everybody, it's the first time in this community for me.
Problem: impossible calculate system performance due a system error or driver error.
Aero peek doesn't work because graphic card driver doesn't support that, but never on hp website nor intel website i found correct drivers for my laptop. My video card is Intel Graphic 520.
Could anyone help me??? Thank a lot.

Low Disk Space after Windows10 version 1607 upgrade
In August I upgraded my Windows 7 Home Premium laptop to Windows 10. All has worked well for a month now until the Windows 10 version 1607 was highly recommended by Windows10 people.
Having kept current with all of the updates faithfully but as soon as I tried (four times) to install Windows 10 version 1607 and then the time-consuming step again of reverting back to the previous Windows version. So I have hit a brick wall. I always get the error message: "Low Disk Space". And Windows continually is reminding me to upgrade to 1607. Like the famous movie, this is a CATCH-22 situation.
I read some of the Forum's help and was lead to a link suggested by a HP staffer as the only resolution available. The link for this Low Disk Space Error problem is http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03736755.
I translated the link's Windows 7 instructions into Windows10 style organization of problem resolutions and located the "Files and Folders" section and then followed the Windows 7 steps. But I still hit a brick wall. In viewing the hidden files on my Recovery Drive (Drive D
I verified that I did not have any personal backup files to occupy space needlessly. I also cleared out previous System Restores and just did a new System Restore. But still have the same problem. It appears I need to expand my Recovery Drive to accomodate Windows 10 version 1607. But in doing the steps under changing my partitions the option to extend the Recovery Drive was shaded and therefore available.
Is it possible to enlarge my Recovery Drive? This laptop is great and has a lot of life left. I do not want to have to buy a new one just to work out this Low Disk Space error problem.
Desperate for help because this is our family's only computer.

HP Tools partition and driver versions
Hello forum,
I've successfully upgraded my notebook to Win 10. I installed HP PC Hardware Diag UEFI using the Driver and Application recovery cd. Is there any difference with a separate HP_Tools partition? I see in Explorer I don't have a separate partition now.
My other question is why the current version of some drivers mentioned on the Drivers and Software page isn't always the latest version? Sometimes I see in the release notes there is a newer one available. Which one should I take?

Not sure exactly where to put this but here goes. Recently registered for a HP Student account to get a student discount on a new laptop. When on the student store home page there's a section for new student deals/offers which lists the HP Spectre 13-4108na x360 (i5-6200U, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD) as being £799 with £100 off. Problem is when I click to view the offer in the store or to shop for the offer I can't find it anywhere in the presented list of laptops, it just doesn't make sense to me that the product is listed and advertised as being on offer if I can't actually purchase it ...

Windows 10 Upgrade from Windows 8.1- Recovery Drive issue
Hi everyone,
I've been trying to upgrade to Windows 10 for a while now from Windows 8.1, the Windows 10 files manage to download quite successfully in the beginning, saying I have enough space etc, so it all looks dandy for a minute or two. However once the files are downloaded, it tells me I don't have enough disk space. It turns out the file has been downloading to my Recovery Drive which really doesn't have enough room in the first place.
So my question is, how do I stop the Windows 10 upgrade from downloading into my Recovery Drive, and move the downloading location to somewhere more sensible? I've tried restarting the process, deleting the downloaded file from the Recovery Drive, but it still recreates the same files in the same place. I haven't found any option as to if I can move the download location so far either.

We using hp notebook 15-ay078tx and for our application we need windows 7 proffessional 64 bit. We have successfully installed it.
But we didn't found any usb driver packages for this laptop configuration please provide an best usb supporting windows 7 proffessional 64 bit driver package for this laptop configuration.
Also We found an problem with mousepad please provide an better settings for the mousepad configuration.

HP Spectre freezing/fading out screen originally while warming up
So I got this laptop last year, and it was working great up until about 6 months ago, when it started doing this freezing/fading out thing, where vertical lines appear streaking from the open application icons, and if during a video, other colours such as green start occuring. This orginally only started when the laptop was warming up after not being used for a while, like at the beginning of the day, but the fading out has gradually gotten longer, and now it will also freeze during the middle of a session, making it unworkable. I've done a virus scan and sweeped the computer for any software errors. I haven't done a full reboot. Fixed it once for a few days after the power saving settings were changed, but that didn't last long. Help?
