During the last days I've been dealing withe issue that my laptop is not recognizing the usb ports and wifi. After several restarts, it works fine. My drivers are up-to-date, so I don't know why I'm having this awful issue.

endless loop and locked drive
5 month old pavillion w10/32 factory installed boots no changes beforehand locked into repair mode just cycles
Have iso disc so think not a major issue go legacy bios and boot win cd go to repair screen and unable to repair as disk with windows on locked
Run full hp diag no issues wont run chkdsk wont repair mbr as most functions are not available coming to conclusion that the disc may be a hybred amd win 10 not seeing x partition?
Not sure if error is in h/d ssd bit if there would be picked up by diagnostics?
Issue one having tried ms site no joy in unlocking drive
Issue two any way of getting PC to boot
Issue three this seems to be an undocumented feature of the pc judgeing by the number of various forum posts
Any help would be appreciated before it goes back to vendor

Defective USB recovery kit...
Purchased the USB - Windows 7 64B Recovery Kit from HP's site for recovery of 4-1043cl laptop that had Hard drive corrupeted during Windows 10 'self-update'. (yes recovery media had not been created hence the need to purchase recovery disc). Using recovery USB: Reformats, copies, then on Restoring files to Hard Drive step I get the "windows cannot find E:\system.sav\util\rstone.exe" message and ultimately BOOTMGR is missing after system reboots twice. Based on some other posts looks like this is not a unique issue. Attempting to contact the HP phone number 855-812-8786 listed on the instructions that came with the recovery disk just gives silence followed by dial tone. Contacting HP support phone number simply gets you placed on hold and then disconnected (unless you want to pay $100 for system support.) What is the correct format for getting a refund for the USB Recovery Kit or actually getting recovery disk that works? The system works, passes all diagnostic tests, and can perform a manual install of Windows 7 or Windows 10 without issue but the recovery disk is utterly useless (don't mind paying for it if functional but not if it does not work.)

Laptop unable to start & cant do a system recovery
Every time I start my computer, it goes black for a long while and then a blue screen appears with the error code "0xc000000f", stating "Windows failed to start. A recent software or hardware change might be the cause". It then goes on to state I could insert my recovery disk to fix this, but I dont have it. It's been long gone.
Before this occurred, I kept getting these warnings that one of my drives had too much memory and I had to free up space in that drive (D). I've seen some people suggest on other forums to press F10 to do something with the BIOS, but my F10 key doesnt work.. Accidentally spilled coffee

mfc120u.dll is missing
1. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and and when I boot the sysem I get a message:
mfc120u.dll missing in connection with acceleratometerST.exe.
2. After the upgrade to Windows 10, and when playing Mattel Scrable, I find that i hand hardly move the letters atound
None of these problems existed before the upgradfe from Windows 7 to 10

Will I still be able to use pre-loaded HP software products if I do a clean install of Windows 10?
I have a Pavilion 14 Notebook which came with Windows 8.1-64 Home, and which I upgraded to Windows 10-64 Home. The upgrade went very badly, but I'd like to use Win 10 if possible. Microsoft recommends that I do a clean install of Windows 10, which will necessitate reinstalling all my MANY programs. They cannot tell me, however, if I still will be able to use some of the HP apps that came pre-loaded on my machine and that I find very useful -- even though I am out of warranty. For example, I use HP Support Assistant for driver updates, and I have found that HP DriveGuard works really well!
Will I still be able to download all these products, and from where? Will I be able to get them from the drivers page for my laptop?

developer mode chromebox
I recently bought a HP chromebox to use it for a kiosk application. However, to completely install the kiosk application in the way I need to, I need to get into developer mode. According to instructions I have to
To invoke developer/recovery mode, you insert a paper clip and press the RESET BUTTON (just beside the kensington lock) and press the Power button. Release the RESET BUTTON after a second.
To enter Dev-mode you first invoke Recovery, and at the Recovery screen press Ctrl-D (there's no prompt - you have to know to do it). It will ask you to confirm by pressing the reset BUTTON again.
Dev-mode works the same as always: It will show the scary boot screen and you need to press Ctrl-D or wait 30 seconds to continue booting.
however, when I do that the box does not send any video signal to my HDMI display so I am completely in the dark as to what happens, if anything. I tried this with a wired USB keyboard and with a wireless USB keyboard, same result: nothing seems to happen.
Who has any idea to get into developer mode on thisHP chromebox ?(Not a chromebook)

BIOS downgrade from L71_0130.bin to L71_0104.bin
How can I downgrade from L71_0130.bin (01.30) to BIOS L71_0104.bin (01.04)? I have tried through BIOS itself, but got the message along the lines: "BIOS did not pass validation". Tried WIN+B as well with the same result. And please don't tell me that it is not possible. There must be a way.
I have Elitebook 850, Win 7 Pro.

I'm just wondering why my new Envy x360 is still in "Processing" after 5 days? When I know it doesn't take that long to test. I also know that by 4:00PM EST it is 4:00-5:00AM the next day in most of China. The only change to the standard build is the UHD display. windows update error 80244fff
My laptop said I had to restart for updates and did and when I checked for new ones got this error.
I searched and seen the proxy workaround. I wasn't sure if it would work and seemed like it would break my connection if anything, but tried anyway.
It said updates were available and I clicked to download them. It says 0% but there were a lot so it might take a while or not work, but it at least made the updates appear. I'll post an update. Not sure how that would have fixed it, it doesn't make sense.
I set my Firefox to No Proxy instead of System Settings and have Internet access again. I think Chrome uses the system settings, but addons can change this.
