I bought a universal charger for my laptop but it's not charging it just has a red X over battery
I bought a universal charger for my laptop but it's not charging it just has a red X over the battery and states battery not detected. But if i pop out the battery the white light comes on as if its charging and once I stick the battery back in light goes orange meaning not charging. What do i need to do to fix this?

Trying to make changes to the BIOS using HP BIOS Configuration Utility
Hi,
I am using the HP BIOS Configuration Utility to make changes to the BIOS which I have know how to do, the problem is the BIOS has a password (which I do know) but how do I input the password into the command line? I was reading this Changing HP BIOS/UEFI settings with HP’s Bios Configuration Utility and my understanding I need to run this command, after I have created the encrypted password file:

recover pre installed windows 7 key
hi everyone
searched for a live chat with hp but couldnt find anything and i cant use call. my hearing english is not good.
i have a pavilion dv6 laptop that came with a preinstalled windows 7. i upgraded it to windows 10 monthes ago. now i want to downgrade to windows 7 but the sticker under my laptop that holds the key is damaged and i cant see 2 digits.
is there a way that i can recover it?

BIOS update bricked my m6-1045dx
I use may laptop for astrophotography, and I wanted to upgrade the memory from 8gb to 16gb. I purchased the exact same memory except for the size. It would slow the system down to a crawl when installed. I checked the bios on the system and it had never been updated form F.03 and the latest was F.27 Rev A
(I had updated to Win7 Ultima and a 256gb SSD drive. ) The system was running much better than it was.
HP's site recomends updating the bios to F.27 Rev A
I downloaded the Bios and ran it. It went thru the loading process and said it completed successfully. It then rebooted.
I waited about ten minutes with nothing but a black screen. I powered down and restarted, still a black screen.
I tried the hard power reset, no luck. I tried the hold windows key and B, no luck. I tried windows key and V, no luck.
I tried build USB drive , no luck.
I need this lap top so I bought a used motherboad on Ebay and will install it if there is no other solution.
Also I really would like to upgrade the memory, but do not want to BRICK another motherboard. Is there a problem with ver F.27 BIOS, has any one upgraded to a later verison of the bios with success? Ver F.25 says it ( Optimized the memory settings to improve the reliability of the memory system) will it fix the slow 16GB problem???????
ANY HELP WITH THIS WOULD BE NICE.

HP Pavilion - 15-cs0150nd makes lots of noise but no signs of overheating
Hi there,
I recently (three weeks ago) bought a HP Pavilion - 15-cs0150nd. After installing the laptop, it makes lots of noise. Even if there are little to no programs running. I have installed the latest BIOS updates (all the steps as mentioned online), but that has no effect on minimalizing the sound. The sound is constant (and very irritating).
What can I do? Can this laptop be really quiet or will there always be background noise?

Laptop not turning on after BIOS Update

My Laptop: HP 15-bs180tx
OS: Windows 10
Today, there was a BIOS update so i updated through hp support assistance. While the BIOS was updating all of a sudden it went to black screen, I thought it was restarting but it didnt. Now its not turning on at all. Screen remains black.
Please help i have lot of work. Please help me fix this 🙏🙏🙏🙏

HP Sure Recovery cannot find operating system after fresh image install
My organization uses Smartdeploy to image Elitebook 850 G5's
This week, I started noticing that just after a fresh image install, Secure Recovery will fire up at boot and yell at me because it can't find an operating system. There is a 4 digit code that it wants you to type.
I noticed that if I hit ESC, it will continue to boot as if nothing is wrong.
So far, the only work-around I've come up with is to just get into the BIOS and disable Secure Recovery.
The computers are imaged with Secure Boot disabled and Legacy boot enabled.

Recovery with USB key do not work

I have to reformatted my pc because it was very slow and office could not open, after remove and resintall office it was teh samething, the computer was very slow.

The guy has try to reinstall Hp Jump start without success and as tell me to call micorsoft to have a new version of the OEM Windows 10 but Microsoft would not deliver OEM version of their OS, it supposed to be HP
After that, i have try the HP Cloud recovery , i have change the bios security parameters to legacy but without any success
I would like at have USB key with HP OEM Windwos 10 64 bits, which i can recover my portable if i loose my hard drive and also to be able to recover if i got a problem
My computer work but without the HP program that i like for update and also i would like to be able to recover my computer any time if hard drive die

Laptop keeps crashing/blackish screen
Hello everyone,
Last year I bought my Pavillion Laptop from an online retailer. It is an amazing piece of hardware but I'm sadly experiencing some problems with it.
A few weeks ago I was working on my laptop and suddenly the screen turned to black (not the same black as when the pc is turned off; but slightly brighter) and audio stops playing. I was unable to do anything other than to turn my laptop off and restart. This happened a few times and I decided to back-up my files and reset my laptop to factory settings, but this didn't do anything. The blackish screen crash occurs only after my laptop is turned on for more than 5 hours and when it happens either spotify or youtube was playing in the background (however, I have no idea if there is a correlation between this).
So in short:
laptop screen turns to black after 5+ hours and freezes completely; factory reset didn't work and only way to restart is pressing start button.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem/experienced the same? Please let me know!
