Hi all,

I have installed Windows 7 x64 (DVD) on my 17-g185nf laptop and downloaded all the correct drivers from HP. However, when I try to install them they won't install. I have no LAN/WLAN, USB, graphics etc.

I started with the chipset no joy, every other driver appears to install but nothing changes.

I have had a couple of error messages -

- Kernel-mode driver frame work not installed (KB 2685811) - I downloaded and installed it.

- several "This platform is not supported " errors.

What am I doing wrong?

I know the laptop supports Win7...

Any help would be much appreciated, I'm pulling my hair out...

So yesterday I went on YouTube looking for aimbots on fortnite and found a video with it and downloaded the file and people put in comments its a rootkit and I downloaded it and extracted the file and it shutdown my pc and now won't boot up and shows a blue screen on startup but can't see anything because my screen is cracked and I need help to see if someone can tell me which keys to press to reset my laptop or repair it and get rid of the rootkit

The battery of my notebook computer is useless now. Full charged battery can only work less than 30mins. I need connect adapter all the time when using the computer.

I installed Windows 10 on this notebook and now I'm having trouble finding the drivers, does anyone know where I can find?

Trying to fix my mother's laptop.  She took in to have something done/fixed.  I am not sure what the problem was that caused he to take it in and not going to keep asking her.  I have discovered several drivers are not installed and believe adding them will make it operational.   Let me add a couple thing I have discovered  before going any further: 

1.  .  The windows sticker on the bottom reads Windows Home Premium  and the HP specs for this computer say it is a 64 bit machine.  When I look at Computer properties  it says the OS (operating system)  is  Windows 7 Professional, Service pack 1  32 bit so evidently she paid to have the operating system changed. Not sure why, just the way it is.

2.  USB won't read a thumb drive due to missing drivers so I am wondering how to install  whatever drivers you point me to.  I suspect I can used the DVD drive as it still apprears to be working.  At least it reads the contents of an inserted disc.  

3.  I looked on the HP driver download page and there are no drivers available for this machine. 

4.  While reviewing the sysem I came upon a couple of references to old Windows files under Computer\Local Disc (C).  These files were named: Windows, Windows.old, Windows.old.000, Windows.old.001 and Windows.old.002,

 

So on to the problem.  The laptop now it will NOT connect to web via ethernet or wifi as drivers are missing.  HP driver download page has nothing available for this model number B5R68UA#ABA, G4-2149SE.  I reviewed a numberof archived posts and saw where this forum was able to advise owners where to find needed drivers.  I saw you need certain Hardware ID information to identify the proper drivers so am providing that now.  One last question, do the Windows.old  represent attempts to change the operation system and if these are reversable would this be an easier way to proceed? . Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Upgraded my HP Mini 110-3098nr PC to Windows 10 and is slowed to nothing.  went back to Windows 7 starter obtained on web.  I do not have the original product key for Windows 7 starter.

 

Can it be obtained from HP?

Today i plugged the charger on my laptop because it had 15% and i thought it's charging, after it turned off. I turned it on and not long after it turned on again. I noticed the battery light isn't on as it should be while charging. I am wandering if the problem is the charger and if I should replace it. Or it needs to be checked.

Do you think this is normal for a new laptop with latest windows, drivers, bios....? Delayed audio and this insane dpc latency. People say below 100 is normal and I have about 3700... like you cant be serious.  What do I do?

on boot get error OA no ct no. on system board, allows me to continue, win 10 goes to infinite loop and never finishes login, cannot open anything. cpu util. does show and it is 100%

Have experienced slowing & shutting down of applications , finally i could only get it to bring up the     Welcome    startup icon ... password usually accepted ..But then  the... Waiting.... buffer dots just keep circling.

 

As my name implies,   I am  a...DIGITAL DINOSAUR...(from the 1950's.. ) ....who is Attempting to become A CYBERSAUR  in  "old age" .

Hi, 2 days ago the laptop that i ordered finaly delivered. Ever since i first opened the laptop after installing windows 10 it began to work fine but when i entered simple games such as roblox it could nt even get above 20fps no matter what i did  and i didn t know why. The next day it started working fine but after 30 minutes of playing roblox it started again, this time barely getting above 10 fps. I downloaded some games like postal 2,Terraria and Minecraft. First it could easily run all games over 60 fps and after about 10 mins of gameplay it started lagging again VERY BAD. I re-installed windows and the same thing was happening.


My laptop has an amd e2-9000e and 4 gb ddr4 ram and  i think it should be able to run these games!

After a windows update, windows no longer recognizes me as a user.  It takes a long time to boot up and says we can not log you into windows.  All my programs are gone (lost my itunes library) but I can still dig into the file system and find some things. 

 

Windows recovery protocols do not work, they eventually back out and say there is an error.

 

Is there a simple fix for this?

My son recently gave me his HP 15-r005la laptop that he somehow managed to totally wipe the harddrive clean. It came with Windows 8. I want to install Windows 7 on it but it will not recognize the installation disks. Is there something I can do or is it just not possible?

When I first got my Laptop it was windows 10. After Factory Resetting it the first time it was switched to windows 7.  As of right now as much as Ive tried and looked for way of factory reset it wont work. Ive tried everything, looking through youtube, hp support and other websites, I just cant find a way. My computer looks fine I can access the internet and everything but it is very slow and has to many "apps" on it. So I really want to factory reset it but I cant. Ive also tried going to the task bar and looking for hp recovery manager and I cant find it. It is like it is gone. Please help!
