I'm trying to choose the better HP laptop from the spec links listed below from HP. I'd like the one with the best performance
& speed + the better screen display. From what I can tell I'm leaning toward the HP Stream # 14-cb170nr.

Hi,
My daughter has a HP Notebook - 15-r230nd, serial number [removed per Rules Of Participation]
She doesn't use this laptop regularly. A few weeks ago the laptop didn't start up as it should, it only shows the desktop with internet and accessibility option.
We expect the problems occured after a Windows update, probably in conflict with Avast.
Can we return the laptop to its factory settings without having a Windows CD?
(System recovery didn't work)
PS I don't know if the OS is W10 32-bit or 64-bit, how can I check if almost nothing works? Except for the BIOS and System Recovery.

HP 2000 laptop won’t power on. Battery light blinks white. Tried a new adapter power cord and laptop still won’t power up.
Tried hard reset multiple times with battery removal and still won’t power up. No other lights blink on the laptop besides the white battery light.
Removed the the battery and plugged in the power cord. Battery light stays solid white, laptop still will not turn on.
i know the computer is old but I need it for work and have no access to a new computer, so I need this to work a little longer. As a side note, all the recent updates have made the computer slower and slower.

Whenever I walk away from computer for 20 minutes or so and leave top open when I come back the screen is dark and no matter how much I move the mouse the screen will not light up and I have to restart the computer. How can I start using the computer when I come back without having to restart it?
Our Pavillion laptop with Windows 10 was running fine for over two years when it started crashing back in August. We discovered that it crashes when connected to the internet, both with wifi and with cable connection, or when it is left untouched for about 10 minutes. If it is in sleep mode it will not crash. The crash results in a blue screen and the stop code is SYSTEM SERVICE EXEPTION, which turns out to not be that helpful. Everything runs fine when the internet connection is turned off, but it only takes a few seconds for it to crash once the internet is turned on. The system has consequently not had any updates for months. We tried starting it in safe mode with network access and it still crashes.
Any suggestions someone could provide would be great.

intento instalar windows 7 en la portatil...observando tutoriales por youtube logre crear un usb boot, modifique el bios y logro que inicie la instalacion, pero no reconoce el disco duro, aparece un mensaje "no se encuentra el driver para el disco duro" y no puedo continuar con la instalacion...el disco duro es hynix hcg4a2.

After a windows update the PC would not boot. It just had a black screen and the spinning dots. This happened to my PC and I had to reinstall windows from the recovery partition. I tried that on this PC but the reinstall failed so I am trying to install windows 10 from a recovery DVD I created. During the install it is asking for the drivers for the DVD drive. I do not have them and need them to continue the install.

Hp stream wont turn on but I can feel it heating up on or off when connected to charger, heard the fan running i think or something running, also the power button bliinks until I push the power button again to turn it on which it stop blinking but still on and the caps lock starts blinking twice and the power plug light on notbook is white and blinks only when the pb light blinks.. Losing my mind! Clueless with computers..
My performance is extremely slow. Could it be attributed to the Recovery Drive? Will Readt Boost help? I have 4 GB RAM. Should I increase it? What is recommended?
I have currently a thunderbolt 3 device that i have plugged into my laptop. I have checked to see if the laptop supports thunderbolt and was told due to the symbol by the usb c port that it does. When i plug in the thunderbolt device it automatically goes into a billboard mode and says that it is a usb 2.0 and not a usb 3.0. The thunderbolt device lights up briefly and turns on when i unplug the power from my laptops usb c port, not the thunderbolt device, while leaving the thunderbolt constatanly plugged in. The device turns on for about one second then turns off again until i plug in my laptop and unplug my laptop again.

Received laptop back from Geek Squad who fixed the CMOS battery. Now I have a black screen when I turn the device on that says “Boot Device Not Found” which is clear as day, when I go to the BIOS screen there is an administrator password I don’t know. I hit enter 3 times to get this number: 85169765.

I have an HP Pavillion dm-4 notebook with Windows 7 64 bit OS. Is this notebook compatible with Windows 10?
I just got the laptop on Christmas so it’s brand new, but about an hour ago I spilled some water on the keyboard (just a little bit as my bottle tipped and some spilled out and I immediately dried it). I was watching Netflix and it continued working fine so I didn’t think anything of it. I then closed the lid and reopened it about a minute later and the screen wasn’t coming on in addition to the fan becoming a lot louder. I shut it down and reattempted and the screen still isn’t coming on, with the power button blinking on and off along with the caps lock button. Additionally, there’s a button on the side that I believe is for the hard drive (it looks like discs stacked on top of each other) that’s glowing a reddish tint that I’m pretty sure wasn’t glowing before.
I’m pretty sure it’s the water since it happened shortly after, but I’m not sure what to do, especially since it was such a little spill. I currently have the laptop charging and tipped upside down in case it needs to drain anything.
