I am trying to reset my HP Laptop to factory settings and it keeps saying the recovery drive is not accessible. I've tried multiple solutions and sometimes in videos I've watched the buttons aren't on my screen like other laptops. I've tried to mess with the partition but it seemed like typing in code which I couldn't get father than information about the partition. I've also tried to back up with a USB and that doesn't work either.

My laptop recently started freezing and crashing regularly. I ran a system quick test on in the menu as the laptop was starting up and it says Hard Drive Short DST Check: FAILED. The Failure ID is PGAD48-7PE9AF-XD7WMG-60XL03
Any help would be appreciated. I basically want to know whether there is any hope of salvaging it or whether I should just buy a new laptop.

Windows 10 is garbage and makes my pc constantly freeze up even doing tasks like writing this message. Constantly high usage of disc, memory, and cpu. I have tried weeks of differnet ways to fix it but I am done. Windows 10 has got to go. I never wanted it to start with. I turned on my pc and it was there instead of windows 7 one day. I want to get 7 back but have no way to do so. I tried using the windows key located on the bottom of my laptop but microsoft says its a preloaded key so they wont let me download the iso for windows 7. How the heck do I get HP and microsoft to let me have my original operating system back instead of this current trash they forced on me?
Hard disk failure message to start with. Hard disk is definitely dead. To test it I tried a disk from a different HP laptop, which worked.
Bought a new hard disk. Installed. The backup CDs are lost. Tried to download ISO from Microsoft, providing product key. Got a message that Windows was installed by the manfacturer and to contact HP.
Now HP detected my laptop as out of warranty.

Hi So i bought this laptop with FreeDOS OS, i formatted and installed Windows 10 on it with USB (image from Microsoft.com), unlicensed with no-product key (OEM) and its [Retail, VL]. So, everything is ok, i installed all drivers correctly... And i was finally "able" to play games like PUBG, GTA V...
And...
Very hard stuttering, 100% disk usage (on System, games exe's, everywhere what trying to load/unload something), virtual memory doesnt seem even work correctly, PC cannot be damaged or corrupted... I tried almost any solutions found on the google, but nothing helps (like: Superfetcher disabling, Switching game dir with HDD and SSD, reinstalling other versions of Windows). Tho i have only 8 GB RAM, im very sure problem can be solved by adding more GB... (but its too expensive).
I just regret! How ppl with weaker pc than mine (in like 3 times!!!) play PUBG with no stuttering with Very low settings (50 FPS). And on mine, with Ultra settings (35 FPS, with stuttering: 2-10 FPS). And it stutters when i travelling with vehicle, shooting with other players (when i AIM and get bad guy on crosshair, DING, stutters in 1-3 seconds ALWAYS!!! AND I GET KILLED FFFFFUUUUU-).
I think its something on the BIOS, blocked BIOS, some cache fill stuff, restricting access somewhere, also i dont have access to Advanced Options on BIOS. Changing ownership on disk, folders, system folder i tried, but it got much worse... I dont want to buy Windows or RAM btw. I want to find solution by myself.

Suddenly it turned off and the power botton was blinking every 3-5 seconds.. then she heard a loud noise from what she things was the power brick, and then it wont turn on again.
I have done the unplug all, press 30 seconds, and plug back and try to start, and nothing...

Brand new purchase. My first job was to upgrade from Win10 Home to Pro. At the first power cycle after installing new OS the device turned into a brick. Immediately it went into Repair mode and failed. The first time this happened I thought it was an issue of switching to a local machine account from the Microsoft account I was using to purchase (which required a power cycle). I managed to recover the device by running HP Recovery (twice, the first time it hung part way through, the second time it finished).
So having recovered it to Win10 Home, I did all the upgrades again and then installed Pro (from the Microsoft site). Everything was absolutely fine until the first power cycle after installation. Now it thinks it's a brick again. This time HP Recovery failed with error code 0xEFFFFF08.
Current state is that it thinks no operating system is installed (Boot device not found. Please install an operating system on your hard drive). Drive and memory tests (that's all the diagnostics available) are OK.
Has anyone else seen this problem please?
Like many, Win 10 was forced upon me. Ever since, the laptop has been slow. It hangs, takes a long for programs to load, sometimes for no obvious reason it will hang in the middle of a simple program such as a basic game (low graphics). I have removed all unnecessary programs from start-up, use MS defender and Malbytes but it still runs like a dog. Any suggestions?
La month ago my windows crashed with blue screen and when restarted it display hard disk is not present , so I use record drive and reinstall Windows it got installed properly. After 2 days again crashed and same steps I took.
Yesterday I got boot disk error Ctrl alt delete to restart . I again installed Windows it got stopped in between and display IO DISK ERROR, AFTER TODAY AGAIN TRIED TO INSTALL IT IS INSTALLED AGAIN .
ALSO TOOK STEP TO CHECK HARD DRIVE IT DIAPLAYS HARD DRIVE PASSED SMART CHECK IN QUICK TEST BUT SHOWED WARNING IN SAT CHECK.

I’ve had my HP pavilion power for around 6 months now, and the majority of the time it has run fine, however, starting yesterday my laptop won’t boot up past the hp logo, displaying an error “boot device not found” and emitting LED sequences using the caps lock key (it will blink 5 long times and 4 short times)
This started happening straight after receiving a BSOD about an “unexpected store exception”, before then the laptop was running perfectly fine.
I am unable to perform a system restore/factory reset as the hp recovery tool always encounters an error when I try to return the pc back to factory settings. I tried running the advanced system diagnostics tool via F11 however that encounters an error (without displaying any error code) and directs me back to advanced options.
I have run commands in CMD (like bootrec etc) however nothing seems to be working. I have restored the boot order to default settings and that also hasn’t solved the problem.
Has anyone else had this happen to them?? I’m at a loss of what to do, I’m fairly competent with PCs however this is beyond my level!! The laptop was running well (no malicious software, PUPs etc) so I’m unsure as to how this all happened. If necessary I can reinstall windows 10 but I really want to leave that as a last resort.

I BOUGHT A SECOND HAND HP Pavillon x360 convertible 11-ad018ca AT MY PAWN SHOP AND THEY DID NOT HAVE THE CORECT PASSWORD ON THE CONTRACT, CAN'T FIND THEM IS THEIR ANY WAY TO HARD RESET? WHEN I TURN IT ON IT ASKS RIGHT AWAY FOR ADMIN PASSWORD

Laptop comes up with a black screen with white writing on which says SMART hard disc error Hard disk 1 (301)
while installing windows 10 thru external bootable usb pen drive getting HP Recovery Manager failed. Error code = 0xEFFFF08. Tried with all the thre usb ports but getting same error.
