I have tried several options to solve the issue.  Here is what i tried:

1) Run the hard drive test. It says No Hard Drive installed

2) Tried system restore. Did not work

3) tried to go to bios option and change legacy option. But my bios option does not show up and instead shows like this in the picture.... How can i go to bios from this? Is my hard drive crashed/corrupted? Plese help me out

recovery issue

Out of ignorance (I never created a recovery mediaCD/USB), A friend formatted my laptop with a windows 8.1 iso image i downloaded from microsoft. The laptop (The laptop is an OEM pc, hp notebook-15-r106nia)had a window 8.1 preinstalled in it when i bought it (He formatted because it freezes all the time he run heavy softwares like solid works, Auto cad, photoshop etc).

After the clean installation, many things went wrong,

1. It could not be automatically activated

2. It can't run windows recovery.

3. If i try to run recovery to erase the whole file in the hard drive, it reports an error, "your pc needs of be repaired. A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed. Error code: 0xc000000f. You'll need to use the recovery tools on your installation media...". I contacted hp, they said the recovery partition is not recoverable since i did a clean install of the OS (I searched for the recovery media online, it was abortive. It seems like my laptop was the only unit that was manufactured in its series)

I've been searching online to see if there is a line of command i can run on command prompt to get things the way it was or almost was when i bought the laptop without downloading much of the unnecessary software's everywhere online. I ran some codes on command prompt to check if the revovery partition is corrupted but nothing happened to the recovery drive,D:.

I ran the following command in command prompt: SFC /scannow /offbootdir=D:\ /offwindir=D:\windows And i got the following error: Windows Resource Protection Could not start the repair service.

Ho do I fix this problem? OR How can i get the recovery partition functioning again to erase everything in the hard drive C: ?

How do i fix the whole issue without having to order a recovery media?

Envy X360 running at 1.38ghz

When I go into task manager and look at performance tab, I see the CPU running at 1.38Ghz, and never goes up, despite it supposed to be running at 2.7ghz. Web pages are slow to load, and some online and offline games and programs run slow.

How do I speed this up to where it should be? Not finding the answers through searches. Thanks

Locked out from bios and corrupted system and recovery

Hi, i have a really critical problem, and i don't think its easy to fix because i messed it up badly. im going go explain this as a story because i feel like thatst the easiest way for me.

All of this took place back in 2016 and i want that computer back!

It all started with me doing a factory reset on my computer and i was in the middle of the windows installation and it kind of froze at 45% windows and 77% programs and drives i think, i i can't remember but however the installation wasn't done, and because it froze and it was frozen like that for like 10 minutes, stupid ass me ( chill because this is the mildest part of all ) decided to shut down and reboot the computer, and i didn't have a backup of anything ( i backup everything now to the clouds ) so i got sent to hp recovery and intried to restore it with every single setting possible but none worked and remember now that I don't have anything backed up, and I don't have any bootable either, no cd,disk or usb. So after several attempts to recover the computer, i got pissed on myself and decided that it was fun to do a bios password. Now, i don't remember what the password is and I want to use the computer so i have a couple questions.

Is it possible to remove or bypass the bios password ( i think there's a site that allowes you to log in using the code shown after several wrong attempts )

Is it possible if you can access the system using the option above to change or disable your bios password even if you don't remember it?

What files do i need to completely restore the computer back to stock ( I don't care about personal files, wipe em, I don't care as long as this pc works again )

How do i restore it ( i have another pc that is exteextre slow tho, it bought back in 2008 and is running Windows 7 and is only able to create a bootable USB. But i must use my Android phone as the usb because i can't find a usb device for the moment. My Android is rooted and i have a app called drivedroid that's able to create a bootable USB file but you use your Android as the usb. )

I prefer if you could be with me when i do it. I haven't booted up the computer since maybe the very beginning of 2017 but its probably way back in 2016. And the computer has had a dead battery since then. I haven't booted up the computer at all while writing this so i have ko idea if that cmos battery even remember what password i have that i don't remember.

I would prefer a complete guide in either text or provided links that all are written in order.

Thanks in advance

Hey!

Im trying to install xubuntu LTS, as double boot with windows, on my laptop using an usb but when I enter the installation it freezes up and it is not able to complete the process.

I have checked ,on another computer (scince in mine it won't even work that), the state of the installer usb and It is okay.

I also tried trying first Xubuntu but it just freezes before it is able to run it.

I have enable the virtualization option on the BIOS (I saw on a ubuntu forum that it might work) but it didnt work either.

is there anything else I can try?

Some docs from Mac Book don’t print or partially print.

I installed my new 3830 wireless printer.  I’m printing from Mac Books/different OS on each, but I’m getting the same results from both.  The issue I’m having is that it will not print or partially print some docs.  I sent a Word doc to the printer and It printed a blank page.  I sent an online shopping receipt to the printer and it printed the template of the receipt, but not the content...I converted the same receipt to a PDF and it printed the same.  This is my second HP printer, I replaced the first because I started having these issues with the old one.   Is this an OS issue?

Delete partitions and format 32gb eMMC drive for clean install

So I've got an issue with an older 13.3" Streambook that maybe ya'll can help with.  My sister somehow managed to corrupt the drive on her Streambook and I'm unable to boot Windows, repair the Windows install, or do an F-11 recovery.  I'm also unable to locate the recovery discs we made when she purchased the laptop even though I know we made them because I'm the one who did it.  She's currently hospitalized and I'd like to have the machine back in operation when she gets home in a few days.

At first I thought the drive itself might be dying, but I've ran the extended tests several times and the drive and all the other components test fine, however the partitions with the Windows install and the recovery files are corrupted.  I've tried everything I can think of to just go in and remove the partitions and do a clean generic Windows install but I've been unable to wipe the partitions.  GParted, Ultimate Boot CD, Hiren's, Windows 8, Windows 10, DiskPart, etc won't do because the partitions won't delete, won't format, etc.  I'm honestly at my wit's end as I've never run into such an issue in all my years of tinkering on computers. And yes, I've tried it with UEFI both enabled and disabled. It's almost as if they're write protected somehow.

So, any suggestions or tips?  Thanks in advance!

"Attempting Repairs"

The PC died on rebooting from a system update several days ago.  The laptop never got to the login window.  It simply went dark.  Rebooted and was informed that OS was attempting to recover.  There is now the Windows logo in the upper right corner and statement under the circuling dots that the OS is "attempting repairs".  The laptop has been doing this for two days straight through.  I have the original Windows "System Recovery DVDs" (1&2) and "Application and Driver Revovery CD".  The laptop will not load the discs at startup.  It only goes back to "attempting to recover".  What does one due now??? Any help would be greatfully appreciated.
