I bought my wife a new laptop and my grandson set it up. We have subsequently tried to log on but it doesn't recognise the password as remembered. It says to reset the p/w but you can't do that without logging in to the system. Probably the best solution is to do a factory reset and start again. How do you do that please?
I just purchesed this laptop and the tablet function does not work. I checked the settings and it says there is no pen or touch available for the display. Is there something I need to download to make this work?
Was in the middle of setting up the new notebook and a password window came up. It did not give me the option to set the password. It says defaultuser0 for the user id. I cannot get past this to finish setting up my new pc.

I have the HP Pavilion x360 laptop that I bought in August for college. It tells me that I have 7 new updates to install, but when I go to install them they won't load and I can't install. I thought that it had something to do with the wifi I was on but that does not seem to be the problem. My laptop will get really hot and start to make whirling noise (I think its a fan or something inside). I already had to bring my laptop back a week after I bought it because Microsoft World would not install. Any suggestions?

I would like to know if there is a way of installing a Windows 8.1 image from a HP probook 11 g1 on a HP probook 11 G2
I have a standar image that I use for all our HP probook 11 g1, they came with windows 8.1. Recently, we started purchasing the new generation which came with Window 10. We would like to install the same image on the generation 2 probooks but when we do, Windows needs an activation key. is there a way to downgrade the OS on these netbooks?

I have a weird problem. When I'm attempting to install the newest BIOS update thru HP Support Assistant, the installation program asks me for my BIOS password which doesn't work for some reason, but it works fine at startup when I access BIOS setup / update BIOS after I have to give the password there, it even gives me the happy "bleep bleep bleep bleep"- sound. I've never had this problem before.
Any ideas?

I have a HP probook 6460b .I have installed windowl 7 32bit on my laptop ,I have product key written on back of my laptop , but it is not activating my windows , how do I activate my windows
Purchased this laptop second hand. Came with Win7 installed. Ended up having to do a full reinstall. Now I cannot download many of the drivers for it. This includes the touchpad and I am unable to turn on wifi. The HP website insists it comes with Win8 so I am unable to download these drivers. I do not have the HP recovery software. I do, however have to partitions to which I do not have access and neither are listed in my computer. I only saw them because of the way Win7 installs. How do I sort this out because I can't even work out which drivers are needed?
I am running Windows 10 on my HP Stream Model: 11-d001dx
I just did a fresh install and update of Windows 10 and now my touchpad does not work and it does not even show up under the list of drivers in Device Manager nor in the Mouse and Touchpad Settings under the Additional Mouse Options.
What can I do to reactivate my touchpad?

I have a HP Envy sleekbook 6 which ive had for about two years but must only use it once every 3 months as its used just to compile tax paperwork.
After about 4/5 uses i notice the screen was coming away from its hinge on the bottom left corner. Now ive tried to use it recently and it looks like the hinge has completely failed making it almost impossible to open it? At first i thought this must just because i dont use it that often but after reading all the posts this seems to be a manufacturing fault or poor product! can someone please contact me regarding this being rectified.
